I modified my database security group to only accept 3306 connections from roles belonging to my application group. I also noticed via Elastifox that my database role AMIs are also part of scalr.mysql-stat group which does allow 3306 connections from Scalr's IP address.
I just want to confirm that Scalr will still have the access it needs even though I restricted access to port 3306 from via my database's security group. Akshay--
