The version that comes with ubuntu lucid LTS 10.04. Checking packages.ubuntu.com
it tells me that this is version 1.6.2
Is there another more recent version?

We're in the testing stages of adding support. What version of
Eucalyptus have you deployed?

I can see that scalr is partner with eucalyptus. I just installed
Eucalyptus and I would like to know if there is any option in
Eucalyptus to manage instances (private and public)

With Scalr, your websites and web applications can grow to millions
of users with little work. Scalr will provision new servers on-the-
fly to handle spikes in demand, and decommission them when no longer
needed to lower cost. It will scale your database, application
servers, and load balancers so you never have to. The end result?
With Scalr and Eucalyptus, you benefit from increased utilization
rates, and ensure that the server farms setup for your applications
are designed in the right, scalable and efficient way.
