Thanks for the response Igor, I thought that to be the case as well so I 
had double checked the ID and Key provided. I took the access key and key 
id from the account, located on the dropdown menu of my email > API Access 
and used the command

scalr configure --key-id=xxx --access-key=xxx 
--api-url=http://my-domain.com/api/api.php

Thereafter I tried to execute the command

scalr dm-create-source -t http -u 
https://mydomain.com/my-git-deployment/my-git-deployment.git -l 
[email protected] -p secret

And I got the following:

Scalr_Environment Key# not found in database
