I've noticed that when re-imaging (snapshotting) a role the associated 
security group can need ports adding. For example I've just taken a 
snapshot of a MySQL role one of my clients and only port 3306 was listed, I 
had to add 22 to the SG.

It's just something I'm aware of and check for now.
