ACK. Tested on RHEL-6 & works fine.

Just margin note - any reason why not to use sed -i 's//gI' syntax
for case insensitive replacement? (AFAICT it's supported on RHEL-6
according "info sed, The "s" Command" section of it and seems to 
be more readable)
