I really like this section. Clean, powerful, limpid, compatible: it is what Scheme deserves.
I retain doubts however regarding the rewind behavior of `guard'. Though I can see why you would want to do it, rewinding is not something that I want to happen while I'm handling errors. Better to have `guard' procedures run the predicates in the dynamic extent of the `raise', and then jump down to the body to handle it, if the predicates returned a true value.
