[This message was sent to the School Board]
Greetings, You'll recall that a while back I proposed the idea of having an email address for the school board that would distribute emails to the board and post them to a publicly accessible website. I think everyone agreed that making public all emails sent to and exchanged between board members (as a group) would be a good demonstration of open government and transparent decision-making. I've finally put a preliminary system together to accomplish this that we can use until I have time to develop a more sophisticated website. To send an email to the entire board, simply address your message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (note that "schoolboard" is one word in the email address). If you receive a message from the public and you would like to respond to them AND have the message posted to the public archive website, address your email to the person who sent the message and CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] You will receive email sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] immediately, but it will take about 24-48 hours for it to appear on the public website. To access the public archive of emails, you can visit: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]. Each message that you receive from [EMAIL PROTECTED] will have [School Board] in the Subject line and [This message was sent to the School Board] at the beginning of the message. Please respond to me directly to let me know that you received this message and the list is working properly. Also, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks, -Steve ------------- This message was sent to the School Board of Winona Area Public Schools.
