We're probably going to need to send out some XML-RPC requests from SchoolTool when we're doing interop work with Moodle.
I noticed lovely.remotetask -- http://pypi.python.org/pypi/lovely.remotetask -- which looks like it would take care of a lot of the annoying details around that kind of task, including cron-ish functionality, which would be particularly helpful.
