I'm looking at all our basic index views with checkboxes at the beginning of each row and the delete button at the bottom and not liking them.
We need something more like this: http://www.marcusschiesser.de/?p=309 With an explicit delete button in each row. I'd prefer if it said "Delete" (and eventually "Hide" instead). Probably also use a confirmation dialog and reload the page or otherwise update the grid after that.
