Hi dev team,
I have a small suggestion that originates from usability engineering
practice. Since you now have created a sample data set with students and
teachers, I suggest you pick a few names that will serve as archetypes
("personas") for the various roles in a school: a student, a teacher, a
clerk, etc.
For example:
Student, Simon Scholar
Teacher, Anna Shepherd
Clerk (School Administrator), Teresa Clark
School Manager, Oskar Chambers
System Administrator, Matt Steward
The idea is that you can then talk about these "people" when you are
discussing design within the team or when you discuss features with
schooltool users, who are looking at the schooltool demo site.
The names should be easily memorable.
Another good idea might be that these personas get a "full data set"
with a nickname and (bogus) email, phone, address, ... possible even a
photo? :-)
