We're planning on adding "student," "teacher," "(school) administrator," and "clerk" as overall roles (although people will still be able to act in different roles in different contexts to a limited degree. Is that sufficient? Do you have something else in mind? > as well > as the possibility to enable editing of generic terms used in schooltool > (esp. course and section, which led to many discussions). Yes... I'd like to do as much of this as possible using the translation machinery. > On the other hand > workflow wizards (esp. on access control) would be helpful and navigation > needs to be improved. Access control will be much simpler (and more limited) in the future. Ideas about navigation (wireframes!) are always welcome. > Is there a way to utilize the files in the "devmode", "sampledata", "group" > etc dirs I found in CVS in a Windows environment and if so, how to set up > (with "devmode on" in schooltool.conf.in the schooltool app will not start > up anymore)? The development code now requires Python 2.4, so that might be an issue. Otherwise, setting "devmode on" is all you should need to do to get the devmode menu in the upper right hand corner of the window. If you start SchoolTool from the command line, you should be able to give us the error message. --Tom _______________________________________________ Schooltool mailing list [email protected] http://lists.schooltool.org/mailman/listinfo/schooltool
