Running SCID 4.0 on Ubuntu 8.04 from source (make install).
SCID is in docked windows mode.
1. File > New...
2. File > Open...
3. In the above dialog, open up IB109A.pgn from the ICOFY base from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/icofybase/ You can get all the pgns from
IB109PGN.tar.bz2 on this site.
4. Once loaded go to Database Switcher. This window should be docked.
5. Drag-and-drop from IB109A.pgn to new db
6. This pgn copies fine.
7. Close IB109A.pgn in Database Switcher (right click and close)
8. Repeat these steps for all five IB109x.pgn files in ICOFY.
Originally when I did this, the Database Switcher would do nothing when I
drag-and-dropped the last four pgns into my new database. No windows, no
errors - nothing. I had to try 5 or so times, and each time nothing happened
until the Copy Games dialog appeared That's why I don't think a screenshot
will really help.
When I tried these steps again just now it worked perfectly, so it seems to
be one of those annoying bugs that are hard to reproduce...
