I'm far of the beast you run using just 32bit Linux Debian stable and
its actually even a single core, but I happen to own a DeepShredder 12
for some reason and use it constantly with Scid without problems.
What I did:
- Install Shredder (/opt/chess/Shredder/)
- Open Shredders native GUI and register the program. (This generates a
key file read upon engines startup. All is well if you call up
DeepShredder12x64Linux on the shell from the engines subdir, issue uci
and it says "registration ok".)
- Set up in Scid:
Name: DeepShredder 12
Command: /opt/chess/bin/DeepShredder12Linux
Parameters:
Directory: .
Hook on UCI
Now I can already call up the config dialogue and analysis and so on
work smoothly.
Note that you'll have to register Shredder by it's native GUI.
