Steve, there is a good reason that Scid does not automatically "reconcile" those names. Chess is played by lots of people, and thus there is much room for ambiguity, in terms of people's names. Just the fact that I have played a tournament game against Robert James Fischer, who was NOT the 11th World champion, should say something. Another good example is "Tigran Petrosian".
It is a good thing that one is forced in these instances to manually convert ambiguous cases, otherwise the quality of the database suffers. Okey > Steven wrote: > Aside..
