My best guess is that you need to install the tcl8.5-dev and tk8.5-dev 
packages.

Run another ./configure after that.

Once you've got 4.2.2 compiled, note the following before running it:
1) si3 bases you open in 4.x will be converted to si4 format. You may 
want to run a backup to stay on the safe side.
2) Stuff like option data and some other configs (in ~/.scid/*) are not 
compatible between 3.6 and 4.x. Set your current stuff aside if you like.
