I have just embarked on a journey to learn about tcl/tk. My motivation is to try
to gain just a little understanding of the working of some of the programs in
scid.

My programming experience comes from writing small basic programs on early
personal computers like the trs80! What attracts me to tcl/tk is that as an
interpreted language i can begin programming with it in the same way as i did
with the trs80!

Anyway. I've come across two sites on tcl/tk that you may care to check out as
a starting point

http://wiki.tcl.tk/

and

http://www.tkdocs.com/index.html

Sorry: can't help on OS-X. I do all my computing on a windows based laptop.
But am curious to know (since you state that you've been a programmer for a long
time) if you know much about X-windows.
Why I ask is that the C program written to get the DreamCheeky usb chess board
to interface with scid makes use of it. And I'd like to know how difficult it
will be to rewrite so that the program can compile for windows.

Thnx

Jerry
