Hi,

Hi,

thanks a lot.

Yes, Joost is right. I would like to have for the entire data base the normal time order (olders first) inverted, that is, newers first This option does not exist presently in the maintenance window. Franz's trick works only for one game, the last one. Unfortunately. I see this is a matter of future development.

Actually, I checked the current development version of Scid and noticed that the database sorting stuff is entirely gone. To my unpleasant surprise, I must admit.

A new dialog is in place, in which you can actually sort exactly as you want (anything can be selected by increasing and decreasing order), but this is (can only be) saved as another view on the game list.
Technically advanced, but not so simple as I like it.

Just for your info. The stuff you may want is in the making...

Cheers,
Joost.

For me it should be the 'default' order in at least a very simple situation: if I organize, say, my own games in a single data base, I would like to have the newest games ready to be checked inmediately...

I would really encourage the developers of this wonderful piece of software to include this option.

Once again,

Thanks

Fernando

Sorry for fumbling my answer to Fernando's question: I was simply
    pointing out where to look.

Franz has the better answer and wins the Internet.

I believe there were tentatives to add sorting fonctionalities in the
    Gamelist window.

The documentation suggest to sort table bases by ECO for faster
sorting, after compacting. Is it still correct?

Franz trick is an important one. We should keep those tricks. I'm
ready to work on something about that.

It can be on Scid's site, or a Quora, or at my own places.

Please tell me what you think.
