Hi Peter,

When I have installed SCID using config/make  I usually find it
necessary to install different versions of TCL and TK.  I have done it
several times because debian is sometimes behind in releases.  For some
reason the configuration file does not realize that 8.6 will probably
include everything in in 8.5.

You might consider using whatever package management system you have.
This can make the process simpler.  Although in many ways I prefer the
older method of compiling everything myself.
