Hi,
About docking, how about making a large collection of pre-loaded docking
modes (window arrangements). You remove some liberty from the user but
presumably make it more robust by working and testing only in the
pre-docked set ups. Also I had trouble in the past getting the windows
docked were I wanted, so having pre-docked modes might be an advantage.
And if someone didn't get his favorite window arrangement, he can say so
and it can be added later. I don't think the number of reasonable window
arrangements should be that large. I have seen this sort of thing in
Pushka CT-art 4. although they offer a very limited (3 I think) number
of window placements.
Cheers

This feature seems to be working nicely now :) Quite exciting really.
The PGN column
mode really comes into it's own.
Attached is a patch. I'll make a commit to svn next weekend when it's finished.
All the new options are in Options->Windows
Not too many windows are embedded yet, but otherwise i think it's almost done;
though there are a few niggles i just cant seem to fix. Lots of stuff
going on here.
If things go bad, use "scid -nodock" to reinitialise it in normal mode.
It doesnt work with 64bit Wish 8.6.0 (mainline Scid also). Just close
a window with a keypress (eg press F2 twice)

I'm assuming that the databases row will adjust as several of them are opened.
Yes, it gets crowded, but they are squeezed up along.

I guess the FICS window can stay out of docking mode but if it is possible to
assign it to the main area it could still be useful.
I can imagine it'd be handy too. What we need is a config system to
know whether to dock any window by default.
It'll probably happen.... Sorry the OS X version is still probably a
little broke. (No win32 testing yet either). Any clues ?
