SCID has functions to patch player/event names so they are shown 
in uniform way, and to remove duplicate games. That's nice, they 
are useful (well, in fact more usable than in some commercial 
tools).

But, still, there is some room for improvement. It would be nice, 
if scid could make some use of games while patching names.
Say, sth like that:

- if duplicate search found two games which have the same (or 
close) date and the same moves, but different name of event 
and/or player(s)

- then maybe it would make sense to prompt the user, whether 
those names shouldn't be treated as synonyms (and, if he 
confirms, patch those accordingly plus save new mapping to 
spellcheck file)

?
