But this would then be engine specific, I guess. At least I
do not know how one could "prefill" the engines hash tabels
using uci, that is I see no command there in the protocol
specs.

This is not to bad an idea. However, it should be in the UCI
description and as far as I can see this is not there by
default. As this feature refers to Aquarium, the announcemnt
sounds a bit like "this works with any engine".
