Indeed this is certainly the reason.
I personnaly prefer translated pieces but this has side effects. Sometimes
english pieces should be used, but PGN standard for example authorizes
translated pieces. Given my natural lazyness, and the workaround (switch
back to english during export), I will let it so (but if someone wants to
code a more user friendly solution ...).
