Hi! [FIDE photo base]
> Certainly here : > > http://scid.sourceforge.net/download.html > > (see http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/scid/photos2007.zip?download). Though the link did not make it to the website yet (its not pressing anyway) for those of you who want to use this photo base Pascal already put it here (thanks again): http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=26963 in the "file release" section. Contents is "all I can get from FIDE", approx 5300 individual photos. Not all are high quality (FIDE seems to use some webcams sometimes) but by far the most of them are pretty good in fact. The file needs approximately 53MB on your disk. (Therefore, it is probably better suited in .../share/scid than in $HOME/.scid for each user ;) I'll try to keep this base up to date, but do not expect a "monthly supplement". Also, if you've other free sources we can use for the project, please let me know. I've some infrastructure set up on my box for the "easy" generation of such bases. Easy means a bunch of perl scripts using a bunch of tools like Image Magick that can be adopted to other inputs. Unfortunately, its not that straight forward to be suitable for "general public use". -- Kind regards, Alexander Wagner Universitaetsbibliothek Ilmenau Langewiesener Str. 37 98693 Ilmenau Tel.: 03677/69-4521 , Fax.: 03677/69-4617 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Scid-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/scid-users
