How do you handle switching of games?

A usual scenario where I use locked engines is setting the engine to
analyse a position in a game of advanced chess while I work on the moves
of my standard chess games and submit moves there. I currently have
correspondence chess in mind, but this might also apply to scenarios
with gameplay on FICS e.g. or just manual analysis where the engine
works on a difficult position in the background.

Therefore you can not be sure that the correct game is displayed in the
main window once I hit the pause button in engine analysis. I sometimes
just pause it as it does not change anymore but I'm in the middle of
another analysis. (Ie. use pausing to save the analysis results for a
moment.)

Additionally, I sometimes not even only switch the game but also the
database. Therefore relying on the games number is not a good option as
well, as number 27 in the original DB and the number 27 in the current
DB are not the same.
