Ah, I'd consider this a real bug. Does your comment mean
you're working on a fix?

Well if the x means the "close" button, then it should close
the window, of course (IMHO). One could imagine some "Dock
it!" menu entry in the windows menu. The usual GUI is to
show the windows docked frame in case it comes to a region
where it could be docked.
