Hello, Checking earlier with Scid 3.7 for osx, and now checking with Scid 3.7 for Win, I obtain something like an average. Maybe it's a median : one could easily check with appropriate testing material.
The first one contains only these two games : [Event "ch-AZE"] [Site "Baku AZE"] [Date "2009.01.16"] [Round "4"] [White "Abbasov, F"] [Black "Ibrahimov, R"] [Result "1-0"] [WhiteElo "2565"] [BlackElo "2568"] [ECO "E32"] [EventDate "2009.01.13"] 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.Qc2 O-O 5.e4 d5 6.e5 Ne4 7.Bd3 c5 8.Ne2 cxd4 9.Nxd4 Nd7 10.Bf4 Ndc5 11.O-O Nxd3 12.Qxd3 Bxc3 13.bxc3 b6 14.cxd5 Qxd5 15.Rfd1 Bb7 16.c4 Qd7 17.f3 Nc5 18.Qe3 Qa4 19.Nb5 Qxc4 20.Nd6 Qa4 21.Rd4 Qd7 22.Ne4 Qe8 23.Nf6+ gxf6 24.Bh6 Kh8 25.Bg7+ 1-0 [Event "ch-BLR"] [Site "Minsk BLR"] [Date "2009.01.21"] [Round "9"] [White "Podolchenko, E"] [Black "Maiorov, N1"] [Result "0-1"] [WhiteElo "2475"] [BlackElo "2524"] [ECO "E36"] [EventDate "2009.01.13"] [Collection "KAPOW ! no 20090201"] 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.Qc2 d5 5.a3 Bxc3+ 6.Qxc3 c5 7.dxc5 d4 8.Qc2 e5 9.e3 Nc6 10.Nf3 O-O 11.b4 Re8 12.Bb2 d3 13.Qc3 Bf5 14.b5 Ne4 15.Qc1 Qa5+ 16.Nd2 Nd4 17.Bxd3 Nb3 18.Qc2 Nbxd2 19.O-O-O Nxc5 20.Rxd2 Nxd3+ 21.Rxd3 Qc7 0-1 (These are games worth watching, btw.) Here are the numbers : Year range : 2009-2009 (2009) Rating range : 2475-2568 (2533) Another file I have contains 65 games played in 2006-2009, but with games mainly played in 2007 and 2008. Its numbers are : Year range : 2006-2009 (2007) Rating range : 2199-2799 (2602) When I add one game to the two-games database, I get something something like averages. For instance, adding a game played in 1560 between a player with no rating and another one with a rating of 1 (a strange rating to have) gives : Year range : 1560-2009 (1859) Rating range: 1-2568 (2026) Unknown dates and ratings do not seem to be taken into account.
