For a more precise example: 1. Launch Scid. Let us assume you are using one of the 6 "traditional" (older) color schemes. 2. From the menu, Options->Chessboard->My Player Names. Add any name, and accept. If you already have a player in this list, you can skip this step. 3. Open a database containing games of one of "your players" (if one is not already open). When a game containing that player is loaded, the board is rotated so that "he" is positioned at the bottom, going upwards. This is normal. 4. Go to Options->Chessboard->Colors... 5. Change to any other color scheme you want, and accept. 6. Now, move to other games containing this same player. You will notice that the board rotation reverses, that is, in every single game containing this player, he is positioned at the top of the board, moving downwards, the OPPOSITE of what is expected. 7. This "bad" behavior persists until you close scid and re-launch, although ... 8. ...sometimes, when switching from one of the 10 newer color schemes to one of the 6 older color schemes (or vice versa), the behavior returns to normal board rotation.
