Hi,

I love scid, but unfortunately it works a lot better for me under
Windows than on the Mac (which I prefer to use).

One big problem is I can't seem to enter an arbitrary move on the
board. I can only enter the 'auto-predicted' moves, where the target
squares show up in gray as I move the mouse pointer around. It
doesn't seem to be possible to just drag the piece and enter an
arbitrary move that's not predicted this way. I'm sure other people
must be able to enter moves, so what am I missing here?

Also, is there any way to get to the 'auto-save cache' option for the
tree window? I find the tree database operations in general to be a
lot slower than under Windows for some reason, and without the cache,
I can't rely on it speeding up for positions I've already seen.

Thanks for any help.
