I noticed that Scid becomes unresponsive for some engines in near mate positions like that: 6k1/ppr3p1/4QrBp/2B1p2P/2p5/Pq4P1/5P2/3R2K1 b - - 0 36
Some engines, like Stockfish, in such positions go as far as 100 ply (despite this is a mate in 2), outputting line after line of analysis. I guess these lines are being parsed by Scid which takes CPU time and make it unresponsive. If this is a case, maybe that can be fixed by avoiding to parse analysis line if it is the same as previous one? -- Michal Rudolf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
