Hi!

Simplest should be to hit Ctrl/e at the board position you want to 
elaborate on.

Not an expert here, but scid comes with some programs to convert stuff 
into the bin book format (see your <blabla>/Scid/bin folder).

The 2600 mark is certainly crap, since it depends on your machine and 
the cycles you want to dedicate to the engine.
I recommend to get hold of a better one than toga (e.g. stockfish).
