Hello,

Being able to merge multiple games needs being able to select multiple
games in the Gamelist. That would be great for lots of editorial
task. But that does not seem a priority right now for the development
team. (I recall there is also a design problem, but haven't checked
the archives.)

So here is what might convince you to merge games by hand. First,
there is a limit on the size of a game. You can't put that much games
into one. I tried to merge a few dozens and it's not that long to do.
Second, if you want an overview of an opening, you might want to look
at a few selected games, not a thousand. So simply browsing games and
merging good ones into one game is possible.

The alternative, as outlined earlier by Remco, is to use openings'
reports. Another solution I would suggest, based on your example, is
to use a stem-game for every variation you are interested to study.

Best of luck,

B
