player information dialogue once you call up a player.
You can check if the files were found in Scids startup window. It should
show something like this:

Found 106 player photos in hudetz100.spf
Loading information from index file hudetz100.spi
Found 341 player photos in SchemingMind.spf
Loading information from index file SchemingMind.spi
Found 4921 player photos in FIDE.spf
Loading information from index file FIDE.spi
[...]
(The actual number of player photos may vary, I use some 10 different
photo files.)
