I don't want to transform this in a sort of war between me and Steven.
I don't have anything against Steven and as far as i know he don't have
anything against me.

There is a lot of confusion about "scid bugs & crashes" and i would like
to clarify this:
you can get a very old version of scid if you download it from
sourceforge website or get it from stable debian.
The latest version is the one on the git repository and if you are on
linux and have git installed you can download it with:
git clone git://scid.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/scid/scid
This is obviously our fault, but please consider that maybe you're using
an old version of scid and some bugs can be already be fixed (if you
open the tree window and from there the best game windows and you can
sort the column by clicking on the headers you should have the latest
version).

As far as I know (i have not looked at scidvspc code in a long time,
Steven may be more precise on this) scidvspc use the c++ code of scid
but changed the tcl code because he didn't liked Pascal's changes to UI.
So technically speaking scidvcps cannot have less crashes than scid
because it use the same c++ code and tcl code don't crash (tcl is
interpreted).

That being said, if you are aware of scid crashes please reply to this
mail stating your OS, scid version and how to reproduce it.
Thanks,
Fulvio
