Hi,
i googled "X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)"
and it was an instructive search.
If you have an nvidia video card, this seem to be interesting:

Unfortunately, the problem seems to be complex.
Scid do not talk directly to X but through the tcl/tk library.
I presumed that the tcl/tk version of your system is 8.6.0 (can be
verified from Scid->Help->About Scid) and installed that version on my
debian machine (previously 8.5.14) but it works fine.
Maybe installing tcl/tk 8.5 can luckly fix the problem, but honestly i
do not know.
Bye,
Fulvio
