Ben,
I have no database open (should I?), I just have the notation and the FICS
windows open. I can tell if I am or not in Trial Mode by looking at the
check mark next to Try Variation in Edit menu (ctrl + space). Clicking on
the trial mode button is the same. Under these conditions I see no changing
on the board, If I try to enter moves by writing them on the keyboard the
status bar shows correctly which move can be played by a piece (e.g. if I
press R it shows which moves can the rook play) but when I click the last
button (eg. 1 for Ra1) it does not show anything on the board.
Can this be a bug?
