This is a SCID question.
The "annotate" function can be limited to one side.
If you are not annotating, but are just running the engine and looking
at analysis you could just simply skip over moves that do not interest
you.
If the engine in SCID is interfering with computer performance you can
also  try running at at a lower CPU priority.  Thats the icon to the
left of the question mark.
