I followed all the described steps above exactly. After that it still doesn't work correctly. When trying to start scid I get this error message: +++ error messsage +++ lothar@triton ~/Downloads/scid-v4.6.1 $ scid couldn't read directory "/usr/local/share/scid/img/buttons/": permission denied while executing "glob -directory $dname *.gif" (procedure "InitImg" line 12) invoked from within "InitImg" (file "/usr/local/share/scid/tcl/start.tcl" line 373) +++ end of error message +++ As you suggested I send you the "uffa.txt"-file. By the way, is it really correct to compile and install the source code without typing "./configure" first before running "make"? That's what I did because you described it this way.
