I've been making many small commits to subversion - mostly minor bug-fixes.
Nothing really stands out. Maybe these
* Shift+Wheelmouse will now *scroll the gamelist and crosstable
horizontally* in linux. In OS X this feature is enabled via two finger
horizontal scrolling (In theorey it should work in windows too, but i
havent tested it).
* in the Mainteneance window one can now Strip Comments/Variarion from
multiple games (without having to export and import pgn as previosuly).
* in Maintenance/Strip (extra) Tags, this fetaure can now be sued for
fremoving tags from the filter games only (instead of whole database)
Concerning release schedule, i'm thinking to make a feature-poor release of
4.13 in a couple of months. It will use Wish-8.6 , which seems stable
enough to me and more attractive dialog-boxes (amongst other things).
One thing i've been thinking about is re-ordering of the gamelist columns.
It's not too hard to do, but the issue is - it isdamn confusing when having
multiple bases open. Mainline SCID git allows different column arrangements
for each open base [and multiple gamelists/switchers - way too confusing]
but this doesnt work imho.
So , added to the fact that the tk widget we use (tktreeview) doesnt really
support column rearrangement, and any implementation is a hack, i might
just pass on rearranging columns for the immediate future.
I should also mention, recent Scid git versions have been messing with the
databse backend and (specifically) name frequencies. It's probably best not
to use Scid git for major database work without backing up your databases,
as name corruption is possible, and there is also a lot of untested code.
