This name spelling thing is a crux. In Scidb I'm stripping the periods, because Scid and ChessBase are doing this. I cannot say that I'm happy with this, but I don't know whether this should be changed. IMO the most important point is that Scid, Scid vs PC and Scidb should handle name spelling in a similar way.
