I found: Scid vs PC-4.13/bin/lang/portbr.tcl
I did open it and I am already editing it with WordPad. Is this correct?
Language used in Portugal and Brazil differ more in oral language than
in text and more in popular/informal language than in technical,
academic language. When we consider the text in chess books it can be
hard to tell if it was published/translated in Portugal or Brazil. I
have the Brazilian Edition of the Smyslov 125 best games (a true gem,
let me say) and one can hardly extract the tropical flavour of its language.
I see that, for some reason, the Portuguese Brazilian translation don't
use the accented characters of the language: It write Opcoes in place of
Opções and Posicao in place of Posição. But I see that French and
Spanish translations (two languages I know perfectly well, having
studied French for seven years...) use the accented characters with
absolute no trouble: posición, información (Spanish), fenêtre, pièce
(French). I will use the accented characters (by the Grammar). So, since
I don't want to change too much the Brazil Portuguese version and I am
not Brazilian myself I will do a Portuguese version.
When I get the file done (port.tcl) I will send it to Steve A e-mail
address.
