Hmmm - you are probably right about disabling tree feature when engine
is annotating, but i'm not sure why it would crash, and i have never
seen this.
The tree code is fairly robust afaik. Is it specific to one book ? If
so , pls email me it.

Please email me your system specs, and output from "gdb `which scid` core"
and "bt" if running linux, or the crash details if available.
