Thanks Mauro. Yes, i knew castling diagrams are broken.
Your changes are a little too many for me to work with at the moment, but
this latex code is very useful ( i didnt have the slightest how to achieve
these ends).

\usepackage{ifthen}
\usepackage{xstring}

and maybe someone will get around to using it, or i will when i get some
time .
