Thanks for your reply - and while I’m here, for all your recent work.

I moved the .scidvspc folder, as instructed.  It reverted Scidvspc to its 
default setup, as expected, but selecting an ‘extra’ piece set still causes the 
error.

I'd be pleased to send you a copy of .scidvspc but there doesn’t seem to be 
much point.
