Michael, I just picked up a book titled One-Minute Readings, Issues in
Science, Technology and Society, Author: Richard F. Brinckerhoff,
published by Addison-Wesley, c1992, 136 pages and has short articles on
72 different issues. As the book states in the introduction, "this book
is full of questions but... none of the questions have any correct
answers. Your teacher doesn't have any either. all of the questions
ask your opinion and are open to argument among your classmates, friends
and family. most of the questions will give you a new slant on the
science course you are taking. most of the questions deal with hot
issues you are learning about through the newspaper, magazines, and
TV." Topics are classified into categories of biology, chemistry,
physics, earth science, and social science (includes history, government
and economics). I picked up this copy at the Science Store at the NSTA
Regional Convention in Phoenix. Hope this helps. ***TOM***
