please pass along to interested students: Science Worth Getting Wet For!!! Submerge high school student's minds as well as their bodies into warm clear waters of the Bahamas. Let the environment itself teach them the wonders of the amazing aquatic communities as they join the Shedd Aquarium's High School Marine Biology Program this summer. This sun-drenched exploration will give students a chance to learn first hand marine science out at sea aboard Shedd's 80ft research and collecting vessel, R/V Coral Reef II. Students will prepare at the Shedd Aquarium with experiments, activities and classroom discussion to grasp the fundamentals of marine biology. Then take their knowledge out to sea as their skills are put to the test when we conduct research, appreciate the need for conservation and examine intriguing organisms along the reefs. Our floating laboratory allows us to adventure into shipwrecks, search for "Atlantis" and snorkel through the underwater world at night! Don't let them miss this once in a lifetime experience! SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE! For more information and an application packet, students should contact Michelle Wildes at 312-692-3173. Applications for this program must be completed and postmarked by April 15, 2001.
