Amy Southon Manager, School & Teacher Services Chicago Botanic Garden DO YOU KNOW AN INNOVATIVE TEACHER? National Semiconductors Internet Innovator Awards program rewards teachers who are pioneering use of the Internet in the classroom to improve student learning. The Internet Innovator Awards, offered in partnership with the 21st Century Teachers Network, are given to teachers who have implemented Internet-rich curricula that have proven successful in the K-12 classroom. Winning teachers receive $10,000 in personal awards, and their schools win between $15,000 and $20,000 to fund teacher training and development in the use and integration of Internet technology in education. In addition to the cash award, all of the winning schools receive a Global Connections training course valued at $3,500. Fourteen awards will be given in the Fall of 2001. Completed applications must be submitted through the Awards web site by Friday, June 22, 2001.
