Science Theatre: Engaging Students Through Exciting Demonstrations

Location: Harold Washington College 30 E. Lake Street
Description: This course offers a creative and visual component to augment
the traditional lecture. By showing science phenomena, teachers can engage
their students in a more active learning environment. Using simple
household objects and common laboratory equipment, students will see the
prevalence of science in everyday life. The class will be equally divided
into lecture and laboratory, with participants performing their own
demonstrations. Participants will also learn how to integrate computer
based presentations and simulations.
Dates: Session 1 � June 25th, July 2nd, July 9th
Session 2 � July 16th, 23rd, 30th
Time: 1:30 � 5:00
Target Audience: Science Teachers grades 6-12
