This is not a valid command.

After some workaround, I found that the ssh service in 
system->administration->services->ssh is different from running the command 
"service sshd start". 


What I did was to first enable system->administration->services->ssh (the red 
icon turns to green) and then I ran "service sshd start". The output was not a 
complain that "service is already started". Now I am able to ssh without 
problem.

Still I am eager to find the problem because I don't think that is the only 
remedy.
