2) At the gnome login it should bring up a choice of login as fvwm.
Choose that and it will set up the settings to default to that for the
user from then on.
Had to grab some dependencies as well but that worked nicely.
Also needed:
libstroke
xlockmore
I also grabbed and installed (just in case):
libstroke-devel
xlockmore-gtk
xlockmore-motif
The user is happy, so life is good.
