Is a crucial step.
I think it was the "dconf update" step that we were missing. Haven't had
to work in dconf much in our enviroment.  That's got the basic banner
working nicely.  Now to tweak the formatting and we'll be good to go.
I don't suppose anybody has worked out how to make it a bit more legible
in terms of colour, instead of the default pale grey on dark grey setup?

Under SL 7.0 the text came out in white and looked a lot better.


I was thinking the same thing. Either adjusting text color, or font, or font size would be a nice tweak. (Or all three?)
